The general pay scale for this position at MOH is $101,799.68 - $156,614.89 per year. The actual hiring rate is dependent on many factors, including but not limited to prior work experience, education, job/position responsibilities, location, work performance, etc. About Maryland Oncology Hematology Maryland Oncology Hematology (MOH) is the largest independent oncology practice in the state, offering comprehensive, compassionate, and cutting-edge cancer care. Our multidisciplinary teams are committed to delivering personalized treatment plans, advancing clinical research, and supporting patients throughout their cancer journey. We are proud to be a leader in innovation, collaboration, and patient-centered care. Under supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, involved in the care of individuals, families and patient groups who are dealing with cancer or other related diagnosis. This care may be in clinic or virtually, via telemedicine. Responsibilities may include duties related to prevention, screening, patient care, management, and research. May serve as direct caregiver, health care consultant, patient educator, administrator, or researcher. Ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and requirements. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner
  • Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
  • This position typically requires a minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner, preferably in the chosen specialty.
  • RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
  • Physician Assistant
  • Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certification.
  • This position typically requires a minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing Physician Assistant, preferably in the chosen specialty.
  • Current state license as a Physician Assistant in practicing state.
  • Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
  • Clinical Nurse Specialist
  • Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Clinical Nurse Specialist program.
  • This position typically requires a minimum of 3 years of practicing Clinical Nurse Specialist, preferably in the chosen specialty.
  • RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Current state licensure as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
  • Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment.

  • AOCNP preferred.
  • AOCNS preferred (if applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients.
  • Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated.
  • Performs procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
  • Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
  • Often incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice.
  • Solid knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
  • Likely to provide case management for patients and their families.
  • Sometimes serves as a resource for nursing staff by providing information being studied in clinical trials.
  • May provide palliative care for the patient and their families as needed.
  • May promote/provide staff education
  • Responsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals, weekend or after-hour calls
  • May mentor new advanced practice providers
  • May precept APP students
  • Other duties as assigned
