Riverside is currently seeking a Full time Advanced Practice Provider to join our Hospitalist team at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital in Gloucester, Virgina

Requirements

  • Education: Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current board certification as an NP or PA.
  • Licensure: Active and unrestricted license to practice as an NP or PA in the Commonwealth of Virginia .
  • DEA registration and prescriptive authority in Virginia.
  • Experience: Prior inpatient or hospitalist experience preferred but not required.
  • New graduates with strong clinical rotations in acute care are encouraged to apply.
  • Skills: Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR).

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct inpatient care in collaboration with Hospitalist physicians.
  • Conduct comprehensive history and physical examinations.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and labs.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the care team.
  • Perform procedures as credentialed and trained (e.g., central lines, intubation, etc.).
  • Participate in daily rounds, care coordination, and discharge planning.
  • Document all patient encounters accurately and timely in the EMR.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
