About The Position

The ION (Input/Output & Networking) Team is seeking an Engineering Project Manager (EPM) to lead the RIU-200 Project. The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for leading all RIU-200 activities associated with plans, requirements, design, integration and test in support of the RIU-200 BORON program. The EPM will provide business and technical direction for the product team, demonstrate the ability to identify and understand critical path dependencies, and take timely and appropriate action to meet program milestones while also managing technical requirements and effectively controlling cost, risk and quality. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Earned Value Management (EVM) and avionics systems development processes, including DO-178B/C, DO-160, and other relevant standards. This role requires strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and oral communication skills. The EPM must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and capable of working collaboratively in a process-centric environment. This position, which offers a blend of onsite and hybrid work arrangements, is based in Clearwater, FL and necessitates a presence in the office for 3 days each week. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or technical field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with technical project leadership, systems engineering, or Avionics design.

  • Ability to support up to 15% travel.
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.   • Previous Engineering Project Manager experience
  • Knowledge of engineering processes including requirements definition, allocation, validation, verification and integration; embedded software; electronic systems; qualification testing; FAA/EASA/NAA certification; and system safety.
  • Familiarity with lean principles, such as Kaizen or FLIGHT DECK, to drive improvements using Daily Management, Problem Solving and Standard Work.
  • Proficiency in Earned Value Management (EVM) and project management tools.
  • Prior experience managing or designing within a product area.

  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP or similar).

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the execution of design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound Engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
  • Lead an Integrated Project Team (IPT) as it develops its product to meet customer requirements for quality, cost, and schedule while maintaining alignment with the product road map strategies.
  • Proactively initiate engagement across the IPT and serve as a technical / financial leader for the project through cross-functional teams (customers, program management, technical experts, software, systems, hardware, safety, and applications engineering teams) assuring “cradle to grave” success.
  • Collaborate closely with Systems and Technical Leads to manage KPIs, monitor, and control execution of key activities.
  • Manage risk, scope, schedule and cost changes within the project.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to convey project status, garner support, relay concerns to the IPT, and resolve issues in a professional manner that is consistent with the company’s mission, values and financial objectives.
  • Provide leadership on assigned projects to ensure financial and contractual execution through established company procedures.
  • Provide status updates and performance metrics to internal and external stakeholders, including program, business, and technical management.
  • Support project proposal development including scope definition, configuration, implementation, tracking and control of projects.
  • Build scope-of-work specifications including those of contractors / subcontractors where appropriate.
  • Support bid and proposal estimates using work breakdown structure methodologies to estimate the labor and material.
  • Support customer meetings with Program Manager, which include preparation of presentation material for design reviews and technical information reviews.
  • Provide leadership to the ION Systems Engineering team supporting the assigned projects. This includes supporting Project Systems Leads in execution of the Systems Engineering Process.
  • Coordinate with other CNMS EPMs to locate and enact process improvement opportunities.
  • Act as a mentor for other team members ensuring the core team builds strength and efficiency.
  • Travel to project sites to interface with IPT members and customers.
