This Position reports to: Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manag As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your skills by supporting ABB’s operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities. The work model for the role is onsite in New Berlin, Wisconsin. Please note that no relocation assistance or stipend will be offered for this position. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the office location. Candidates are expected to manage their own commuting arrangements.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering , or another related degree, in the United States.
  • Intern must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions.
  • Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Exhibit the capability to manage several tasks at once while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Collaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress.

Responsibilities

  • Support process improvement initiatives by collecting and analyzing production data, identifying bottlenecks, and assisting with kaizen implementation.
  • Assist in developing and updating work instructions, standard operating procedures, and quality documentation to ensure compliance with manufacturing standards.
  • Contribute to safety and ergonomic assessments by conducting workstation evaluations, documenting findings, and recommending improvements.
  • Participate in capacity planning activities by analyzing production metrics, cycle times, and resource utilization to support operational efficiency goals.
