Advanced Mechanical Engineer

PAR SystemsBrunswick, GA

About The Position

At Jered, a PAR Systems Company, we design and build large-scale ship systems for the U.S. Navy and other customers operating in high-consequence environments where performance and reliability are critical. These are fabricated steel structures, precision machined assemblies, and integrated mechanical and controls systems built to perform for decades in harsh maritime conditions. As an Advanced Mechanical Engineer, you will contribute to full system deliveries, not isolated component work. You will design assemblies that carry real loads, support shock qualification efforts, and collaborate closely with engineering, production, and program teams to ensure systems are built, tested, and placed into operational service. This role is for engineers who want ownership, accountability, and visible impact across the full engineering lifecycle. Success Criteria: This role requires independent execution within your scope while contributing to overall system performance and delivery. You will design, review, and release large fabricated and machined assemblies using SolidWorks or equivalent CAD tools, producing accurate drawings and documentation that clearly communicate manufacturing intent. Your models, bills of material, and change records will be properly controlled within ERP and PDM/PLM systems. You will apply strong mechanical fundamentals to structural and load path evaluations, including appropriate use of basic FEA, and collaborate with manufacturing to resolve production issues while maintaining design integrity. As you develop, you may support smaller shipset builds, participate in design reviews, and contribute to compliance and proposal efforts. Ultimately, you will deliver robust, manufacturable systems while demonstrating growing technical ownership and sound engineering judgment.
