About The Position

San Diego Cardiac Center is a single specialty cardiology group of 15 physicians and 4 advanced practice providers serving San Diego County. We are proud to be the only non-university affiliated group in the region to provide a full complement of cardiovascular services from prevention and general cardiology to complex coronary interventions, electrophysiology, structural heart disease, advanced heart failure, and cardiac transplantation. The group currently has 4 locations, including their primary location in Kearny Mesa which has been present for over 45 years, a second office in Chula Vista, servicing the southern part of San Diego County, a third office in El Cajon, and our newest office in Grossmont/La Mesa serving East County San Diego. Highlights include: Outpatient cardiology (100%) Team based approach with autonomy, as well as excellent physician support Compensation with competitive guaranteed base salary, plus excellent benefits Productivity based incentives available The Outpatient Electrophysiology Advanced Practice Provider (EP APP) is an advanced practice provider who delivers comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals with detected cardiac arrhythmia in an outpatient clinic environment. Working collaboratively with electrophysiologists and cardiology staff, the EP APP evaluates and manages patients with rhythm disorders, provides device follow-up, supports procedural care coordination, and ensures continuity of care through clinic visits and remote monitoring.

Requirements

  • Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Active Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the state of practice
  • National NP or PA certification (ANCC, AANP or PA-C)
  • DEA registration and prescriptive authority
  • ACLS certification
  • Minimum 2 years of cardiology experience

  • EP experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct new and follow-up outpatient visits for patients with cardiac arrhythmia
  • Order ECGs, ambulatory monitors, labs, and other diagnostics
  • Prescribe and manage antiarrhythmic, rate-control, and anticoagulation therapies
  • Provide pre- and post-procedure counseling and follow-up
  • Manage pacemakers, ICDs, and loop recorders including in-office device interrogations
  • Provide oversight for remote device alert management
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and lifestyle modifications
  • Document all encounters accurately in the electronic medical record
