Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner (NP): Current NP Licensure and registration in PA
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing
  • CPR Certification
  • Physician Assistant (PA): Current PA Licensure under the PA State Board of Medicine
  • Certification through NCCPA
  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies
  • CPR Certification
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Passion for oncology and patient-centered care

Responsibilities

  • Direct medical care of oncology/hematology patients in inpatient and/or outpatient settings, including initial history, physical exams, follow-up, and emergent visits.
  • Provide screenings, determine treatment plans, and assess the need for hospital admission or further care.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive cancer treatment.
  • Educate patients on diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment options.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
  • Prescribe medications and recommend treatments within the scope of practice.
  • Act as a resource and role model for staff.
  • Write chemotherapy orders.
  • Manage off-site treatment patients.
  • Participate in the customization of electronic medical records.
  • Complete compliance documentation, billing, and medical necessity forms.
  • Stay up to date with oncology research and participate in clinical projects.
  • Engage in community outreach and health promotion initiatives.
