How you’ll make an impact in this role Ascension Via Christi is looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Emergency Medicine and walk-in clinic team in Wamego, Kansas. Position Highlights: Provide care in both the Emergency Department and Walk-in Clinic, offering a broad scope of acute and urgent care experience. Practice in a community-focused hospital that delivers comprehensive care close to home for the surrounding rural region. Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Verified by local credentialing office.
- Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed from the Kansas Board of Healing Arts obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. Verified by local credentialing office.
- Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program. Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services under the supervision of a physician.
- Obtain patient history and performs assessment. Order, perform and interpret diagnostic procedures.
- Provide and document direct treatment and management of health conditions.
- Provide counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
- Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.
