The Department of Hospital Medicine is ready to add a qualified Family/Adult/Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to the night team at Medina Hospital. A provider in this role will work to the top of license providing care to patients in an inpatient unit. All candidates must be graduates of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or PA program to be considered. The ideal candidate has inpatient medicine experience and is comfortable with handling a wide range of work throughout a patient's hospitalization. Providers should have at least one year of advanced practice experience, but new graduates with a Hospital Medicine rotation are encouraged to apply. The night APP will work night 4:30pm to 7:30pm (Approximately 11 shifts per month on a rotating basis). Responsibilities will include but not limited to performing admission H&P’s, cross-cover inpatient concerns, addressing nursing concerns, and evaluating change in clinical condition. APRN: Nationally certified licensed healthcare provider who provides primary and/or specialty nursing and/or medical care in a variety of healthcare settings. Functions in collaboration with a physician according to a standard care arrangement and specialty certification. Provides advanced nursing care to patients with complex acute, critical, and chronic health conditions, including the delivery of acute care services. PA: Nationally certified licensed healthcare provider who provides primary and or specialty medical care (the practice of medicine) in a variety of healthcare settings. Functions the collaboration agreement of a Physician, (as per O.R.C. 4730) performs complete histories and physicals on patients of all ages to establish and record patient's current health status and to develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan to provide continuing medical care, including daily examinations, writing orders, chart notes, discharging patients and completing discharge summaries. This medical care may be in a variety of clinical settings. PA's are privileged by the Board of Governors. PA's in this role provide advanced care to patients with in any setting in which patients require complex, acute, critical and chronic health conditions. Practice in a setting that requires complex monitoring and therapies and high intensity medical/surgical interventions and/or continuous vigilance within the range of high-acuity care.
