Job Description Summary Shirley Ryan AbilityLab is the global leader in physical medicine and rehabilitation for adults and children with the most severe, complex conditions. In addition to operating a 262-bed flagship hospital in downtown Chicago and wholly owned DayRehab and outpatient clinics across Chicagoland, the organization extends its reach and expands patient access to comprehensive rehabilitation services through its Global Network of alliance hospitals. Since 2023, Shirley Ryan AbilityLab has brought its expertise to Detroit through a partnership with Henry Ford Health. Currently, the organization provides management of inpatient rehabilitation and medical-surgical therapy at various Henry Ford Health community hospitals. Upon opening in 2029, Shirley Ryan AbilityLab will occupy the top three floors of Henry Ford Health’s patient tower — a 72-bed, state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility. Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) consist of Physician Assistants (PAs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs). The Advanced Practice provider is responsible for providing care to both inpatients and outpatients. In collaboration with the physician, assists with the diagnosis of medical conditions, planning and implementation of interventions, as well as evaluating patient responses. Serves as a resource for staff and students on issues and strategies in the management of patients and is expected to participate in scientific clinical research and publication. The Advanced Practice Provider consistently demonstrates support of the SRAlab statement of Mission and Philosophy by striving for excellence, contributing to the team efforts and showing respect and compassion for patients and their families, fellow employees, and all others with whom there is contact at or in the interest of the institute.
