About The Position

Nichols College Advancement Associate, Part Time Department: Advancement and Alumni Relations JOB SUMMARY: This position supports the College’s alumni engagement, stewardship, and institutional advancement efforts. Reporting to the Director of Alumni and Family Engagement, the role collaborates closely with alumni relations and advancement team members to develop and implement programs that strengthen alumni relationships and advance institutional priorities. This is a part-time position, with a maximum of 30 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to engage and communicate across generations.
  • Experience with graphic design applications; basic photography and video production skills.
  • Ability to build relationships within a multigenerational community.
  • High level of professionalism and ethical conduct during on- and off-site events.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to support evolving departmental needs.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to contribute proactively to department goals.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Two to three years of experience in a professional or higher education setting preferred.
  • Ability to operate standard office and telecommunication equipment.
  • Ability to perform light to moderate lifting related to event setup and breakdown.

Responsibilities

  • Create and produce regular content for departmental social media channels; track engagement metrics and maintain the communications calendar.
  • Support the department’s graphic design, photography and video production needs.
  • Produce the monthly e-newsletter and support additional departmental publications as needed.
  • Maintain and update the department website, including the creation of special landing pages.
  • Serve as a liaison to the student body, including recruiting and coordinating student volunteers and supporting senior class giving initiatives.
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of alumni and advancement events, such as Homecoming Weekend, alumni receptions, and Board of Advisors meetings.
  • Oversee scholarship recipient stewardship, including collecting information, writing recipient bios, and producing donor updates.
  • Support fundraising initiatives, including special campaigns and donor thank-you communications (e.g., videos).
  • Work occasional nights and weekends to support events and programming.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
