About The Position

USF Advancement is entering a period of rapid modernization, and we are seeking a highly skilled, forward thinking Power Platform and AI Solutions Architect to accelerate digital transformation across the division. This hands-on technical leader will design and build solutions that transition fragmented custom applications into a unified, reliable, and scalable Microsoft ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of application modernization, workflow automation, AI enablement, and enterprise data strategy. The architect shapes how Advancement works by building practical tools on Microsoft Power Platform, ensuring solutions integrate with Microsoft Dataverse, Microsoft Fabric, SQL based systems, and other enterprise platforms that support fundraising, engagement, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate brings a builder’s mindset, an architect’s discipline, and a strong desire to simplify and elevate the day-to-day experience of staff. This position is essential to reducing technical debt, creating sustainable patterns for low code and AI development, and ensuring our digital ecosystem continues to evolve in alignment with institutional goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• 2+ years of IT experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience including 1 year of low code development.
• Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate (https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/1310) is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.
• SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements
• A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed: (a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree; (b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree; (c) Six years of direct experience for a master’s degree; (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
• Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
• Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.

Responsibilities

• Application Modernization Design, build, and enhance Power Platform solutions that replace legacy custom applications with supportable, scalable tools.
• Develop applications that integrate with Dataverse, Fabric OneLake, and enterprise data services.
• Apply low code architectural patterns to guide configuration, extension, or integration decisions.
• Translate Advancement operational needs into intuitive applications and staff friendly digital experiences.
• Workflow, Integration, and AI Design Build and maintain automated workflows that simplify business processes and reduce manual effort.
• Design AI enabled experiences using Copilot Studio, AI Builder, and Azure OpenAI to improve productivity and decision support.
• Develop and support integrations with CRM Advance, financial systems, payment tools, and data platforms.
• Ensure solutions align with integration best practices and evolve with Fabric based analytics and governance.
• Build solutions with a clear understanding of SQL databases and relational models.
• Platform Reliability and Governance Maintain stable, secure production environments for applications and workflows.
• Participate in issue diagnosis, resolution, and continuous improvement.
• Apply governance, access controls, and data standards aligned with Microsoft 365, Dataverse, and Fabric.
• Collaboration and Enablement Partner with reporting, analytics, data operations, governance, and innovation teams to ensure alignment with enterprise strategy.
• Provide guidance that helps teams build scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Contribute technical insight to SaaS evaluations for fit within the Microsoft ecosystem.
