Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a Summer 2026 Intern Systems Design & Installation Engineer. In this role, you may: - Design the installation of aircraft Mechanical Systems including but not limited to Hydraulics and Pneumatics Subsystems routing, Environmental Control Systems (ECS), fuel line routing, Escape System Subcomponent, etc. - Define, develop, and finalize mechanical layouts and systems interfaces - Create Build-to-Packages for detailed parts, assemblies and installations - Design the installation of aircraft Equipment and Crew Station hardware of Line Replacement Units (LRUs), Control Panels, other cockpit systems (displays, radios, etc) and their supporting hardware The successful candidate will have knowledge and/or experience with CATIA, SolidWorks, or other CAD applications. Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical major
  • Knowledge and/or experience with CATIA, SolidWorks, or other CAD applications
  • Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance.
  • This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with metallic design
  • Experience with hand analysis for initial part layout
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
