About The Position

Join our innovative project as an Aerospace Communication AI Analyst Intern, focused on revolutionizing aerospace communication through AI-driven data transformation. You’ll contribute to cutting-edge advancements in radio communication technologies, enhancing data reliability and efficiency. Gain hands-on experience in machine learning, signal processing, and computer vision within the aerospace domain, while collaborating with a team of skilled engineers, data scientists, and domain experts. This role offers a hybrid schedule with the expectation that you will be in-person at least 3-4 days a week at our Sterling, VA location.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Basic proficiency in Python and a willingness to learn and improve
  • Familiarity with MATLAB or similar software and a willingness to learn
  • Interest in computer vision and visualization techniques
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Good analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience or coursework in machine learning, signal processing, or aerospace communication is a plus
  • Enthusiasm for learning and applying new technologies
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred, but not required
  • Previous internship/co-op or other work experience

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine machine learning models to automatically detect and classify artifacts in radio communications used in aerospace applications
  • Design and implement algorithms and feature engineering techniques to identify statistical signatures in bit streams
  • Establish a robust testing framework with performance metrics to validate the accuracy of detection
  • Develop a Python library containing models and thorough documentation for identification
  • Implement computer vision approaches for trajectory visualization and pattern recognition in aerospace communications
  • Develop machine learning models to predict missing parameters and identify flight behaviors based on communication data
  • Create an interactive analysis toolkit with specialized applications for aircraft tracking and performance analysis
  • Provide clear and detailed documentation for all developed models, algorithms, and tools
  • Conduct rigorous testing and validation of all implemented solutions to ensure reliability and accuracy
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, data scientists, and domain experts, to integrate solutions into existing systems
  • Prepare and present regular progress reports and findings to stakeholders
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and aerospace communication to continuously improve project outcomes
