Then come aboard as AMERICAN SYSTEMS' next Aerospace Engineering Intern! As an Aerospace Engineering Intern, you will: Work with the latest, cutting edge technology Provide creative solutions to complex problems Work with a team of driven, supportive, and highly skilled professionals A week in the life of an Aerospace Engineering Intern: Contribute as a member of an advanced technical team Perform aerospace modeling and simulation, design, test, and development. Work with aircraft performance assessment, modeling of aircraft dynamics and aerodynamics, aircraft subsystems, and various payloads subsystems for the purpose of flight dynamics, flight controls, and aerodynamics analysis Assist with the following: Design, develop, integrate, and test aircraft flight control systems and autopilots Develop, integrate, and validate models of aircraft flight dynamics and subsystems, such as payloads, flight control components, and sensors Support lab, ground, and flight qualification testing of aircraft avionics, sensors, and flight control systems May have the opportunity to work with programming languages (C/C++)

Requirements

  • High School diploma and 1-2 years of college or related work experience

Responsibilities

  • Contribute as a member of an advanced technical team
  • Perform aerospace modeling and simulation, design, test, and development.
  • Work with aircraft performance assessment, modeling of aircraft dynamics and aerodynamics, aircraft subsystems, and various payloads subsystems for the purpose of flight dynamics, flight controls, and aerodynamics analysis
  • Design, develop, integrate, and test aircraft flight control systems and autopilots
  • Develop, integrate, and validate models of aircraft flight dynamics and subsystems, such as payloads, flight control components, and sensors
  • Support lab, ground, and flight qualification testing of aircraft avionics, sensors, and flight control systems
  • Co-Op / Interns typically represent college students trying to gain related work experience while pursuing an undergraduate degree.
  • Under direct supervision, performs various tasks and assignments for the organization's professional staff in such disciplines as Engineering, Software Development, Database Management, Security Threat Analysis.
