About The Position

PPG's Aerospace Business is looking for an Entry Level Coatings Lab Technician at our Manufacturing Facility based in Mojave, CA! As an Aerospace Materials Lab Technician you will work to ensure that products manufactured at this facility meet all customer requirements. Experience in an identical role isn't required but we hope you have some basic experience working in a lab environment and understanding of Analytical processes and testing. Every batch of product we produce requires someone like you to do testing. If you are passionate about delivering quality laboratory products, then we want to talk to you! You will be working out of our facility in Mojave, CA on 3rd shift (Monday - Friday, ) and report to the Quality Lab Supervisor. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Only U.S. Citizens, Green Card holders, and political asylees or refugees are eligible to apply.

Nice To Haves

  • Related technical certifications with coatings and sealants preferred.
  • Previous experience working in an aerospace laboratory environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic mathematical equations.
  • Conduct Analytical testing on our Raw Materials, Coatings, and Sealants products.
  • Ensure all Lab equipment is working and calibrated.
  • Help achieve team goals by communicating ideas, suggestions, and assistance, e.g., communicating ways to save time, effort, and resources.
  • Be or become familiar with SOPs and ASTMs on everyday chemicals and testing procedures.
  • Participate in all safety protocols and 5S programs and help to maintain the laboratory equipment and inventories.
  • Keep a clean work environment, to include the execution of routine upkeep activities to support the entire lab.
  • Inspect, test, and perform evaluations on products.
  • Identify issues that need to be addressed and to take the necessary steps to avoid future errors.
  • Proficiency in using ERP System (QAD preferred) and standard office software applications.
