About The Position

We are hiring a senior-level Quality Technician to serve as a definitive quality authority on our machine shop floor, providing accurate, real-time feedback to our aerospace and defense manufacturing team. This is a high-level role for an experienced quality tech who thrives on accountability and taking absolute ownership of the inspection process in a high-precision machining environment. You will utilize a wide variety of tools—from manual measuring instruments and visual systems to CMMs—ensuring that every part meets rigorous industry and customer standards. While we have a robust quality department to support you, we need a confident professional who can step up, own the inspection data, and communicate findings constructively to the machinists. If you possess sharp attention to detail, a commitment to continuous improvement, and the communication skills to act as a true partner to the machine shop floor, we want to talk.

Requirements

  • 5–6 years of highly relevant experience in precision quality control/inspection. High school degree or equivalent, plus advanced training, is required.
  • Deep working knowledge of complex customer specifications, industry requirements, and precision measuring equipment. Basic computer skills are required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. You must be able to deliver critical feedback to machinists clearly, concisely, and collaboratively.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot issues and think critically about process control, working equally well individually and within a larger team environment.
  • Commitment to understanding and obeying safety requirements, while keeping your work area clean, organized, and free of debris.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Requires specific vision abilities (close/distance vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus). Capable of standing for long periods and using hands/arms for extended manual inspection.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect complex parts to ensure strict conformity to customer requirements and industry standards. This includes dimensional, visual, material handling, workmanship, paint applications, and more.
  • Fluently utilize a wide array of measuring tools, including manual measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gages), CMMs, mylars, and visual measuring systems.
  • Execute required inspections defined by sampling plans, checking meticulously for non-conformity to guarantee customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as a dedicated partner to the CNC machinists. Provide accurate, timely feedback on process control and part quality to catch and correct issues immediately.
  • Actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement on the floor. Don't just find the defects—help the team understand how to prevent them.
  • Prepare, update, and meticulously audit Company and Customer inspection records for absolute accuracy, communicating clearly and concisely as needed.
  • Strictly follow implemented standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision, accuracy, and reliability of products.
