About The Position

The Boeing Company is seeking a Mid-Level (Level 3) or Senior (Level 4) Aerospace System Safety Engineer – Data Scientist to join our organization onsite in Everett, WA or Seattle, WA. We are seeking passionate teammates to help us continue our mission to establish a safety engineering function across the company and develop enduring product safety design processes, practices, and solutions to assure the safety, quality, integrity, and mission success of our products and services. Our objectives are supported by a collaborative environment defined by exceptional teamwork, inclusiveness, and a passion for leading with speed, agility and creativity. The Aerospace Safety Analytics team leverages in-service aviation data (trajectory/ADS‑B, Flight Management System (FMS) data, text-based reports, maintenance logs, and other sources) to monitor, assess, and drive improvements in the safety of Boeing products and operations. We develop analyses, models dashboards, and production data products to identify and track product and operational risks, quantify impacts and generate actionable recommendations that influence design, procedures, and operations. We are hiring a flexible individual to support this mission by analyzing and interpreting aviation data and/or building data products and tools that surface safety insights for stakeholders. Candidates may come from a stronger data-science background, a stronger aerospace/operations/engineering background, or a hybrid of both. The role will contribute to ingestion and processing of multiple aviation data sources, exploratory and inferential analysis, model development or validation, visualization and reporting, and communications to safety stakeholders (engineers, flight operations, program teams, regulators).
