About The Position

Position Summary: Assist in overall responsibilities for the after-school program through tutoring and mentoring youth, grades K-8. Essential Responsibilities: Tutoring youth in core academic subjects, completion of daily schoolwork and after-school program lessons Leading and/or coordinating game time activities for youth Assisting in other after-school activities Creating a positive environment that is conducive to learning Assist with meal preparation for after-school youth attendees Leading in planning and/or coordinating age-appropriate recreational activities for both indoors and outdoors, weather permitting. Run unpaid vendor list after last check run for each month. Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School diploma / GED, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple job-related assignments.
  • Ability to make decisions within the limits of authority
  • Ability to provide conflict resolution with youth in a positive, yet effective manner
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
  • Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint
  • Willingness to learn new software as needed
  • Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed
  • Must have and maintain a current valid driver’s license and pass the Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR)

Nice To Haves

  • Some college in a related field preferred
  • 1 years’ experience working with youth in a tutoring type of capacity, preferred

Responsibilities
