About The Position

The Ag/Chem Graphics Specialist is responsible for reviewing, creating, and modifying customer-supplied artwork to ensure accuracy and print readiness for production. This role serves as a critical checkpoint in the prepress process, ensuring all artwork meets regulatory, customer, and manufacturing requirements prior to printing. The position requires strong technical expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, a deep understanding of print production processes, and exceptional attention to detail. The Ag/Chem Graphics Specialist works closely with Sales, Customer Service, and Production teams to ensure artwork is prepared accurately and efficiently to support fast-paced production schedules and customer deadlines.

Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
  • Familiarity with RIP (Raster Image Processor) software and prepress workflows.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control mindset.
  • Working knowledge of print production processes, including Flexographic, Digital, and Offset printing.
  • Experience using artwork inspection tools such as Global Vision or similar software.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with co-workers.
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with agricultural and chemical labeling requirements and regulatory content.
  • Knowledge of color management and print color standards.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Responsibilities

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrates the behaviors of punctuality, regular attendance, professionalism towards supervisors and co-workers, and self-directed task completion.
  • Maintains clean work area.
  • Must comply with all departmental SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), company GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), Employee Handbook Policies, including attendance, and all safety rules and standards.
  • Works normal shift hours and overtime as required.
  • Review client-supplied artwork files to identify and correct issues related to fonts, images, resolution, layout, and formatting prior to proofing or printing.
  • Create and modify label artwork including text, logos, graphics, and illustrations in accordance with customer specifications.
  • Verify that all text elements—including regulatory information, warnings, and product details—are accurate, legible, and properly formatted.
  • Edit and color-correct images to ensure optimal print quality and color accuracy.
  • Prepare and adjust artwork files to meet specific printing requirements for Flexographic, Digital, and Offset printing processes.
  • Verifies all bar codes for size and number accuracy, quiet zone, and bar width reduction.
  • Checks all artwork against customer supplied instructions and CCL Memphis standards.
  • Serve as the final checkpoint for artwork accuracy related to color, typography, layout, and formatting before production.
  • Utilize Global Vision and other verification tools to detect artwork inconsistencies and errors.
  • Maintain organized digital files and documentation related to artwork revisions and approvals.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Production teams to resolve artwork issues and meet production timelines.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams and customers regarding artwork questions, revisions, or clarifications.
  • Signs QC sheet and Job Record Copy verifying artwork is accurate to customer and CCL Memphis specifications.
