About The Position

Candidate will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of agricultural equipment, machinery, and facility-related mechanical systems to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operations of the Quapaw Cattle Company. The individual will support daily ranch and feeding facility operations by maintaining tractors, trucks, trailers, feeding equipment, irrigation systems, and other mechanical assets. The candidate will support preventative maintenance programs and respond to emergency repairs during critical operational periods.

Requirements

  • Self-starter, highly motivated, and able to complete projects with limited or no direct supervision once trained.
  • Desire to improve processes and efficiency throughout the operation.
  • Possess the ability for strategic planning for the future of the operation and ability to see projects through to completion.
  • Maintain a current driver’s license in good standing and qualify under the Quapaw Nation Motor Vehicle Policy.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years’ actual experience in automotive, diesel & heavy equipment repair.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years’ actual experience with agriculture related equipment and processes, preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; specialized training in a related/applicable field is preferred.
  • The incumbent must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time, as well as regularly reach above the shoulders; must be able to push, pull, and lift up to and including 50 pounds without experiencing physical discomfort or pain.
  • Excellent eyesight – with or without vision correction – is mandatory.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in variable weather conditions and on uneven surfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain agricultural equipment including trucks, tractors, loaders, balers, mowers, feeding equipment, and implements.
  • Proficient with Computer Diagnostics and ability to read schematics and blueprints.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on ranch vehicles, equipment, and machinery according to manufacturer recommendations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, drivetrains, braking systems, and steering systems.
  • Maintain and repair hydraulic systems, pumps, motors, hoses, and fittings.
  • Diagnose and repair basic electrical systems including wiring, starters, alternators, and lighting.
  • Perform welding and fabrication for equipment repair, fencing, gates, and structural components.
  • Assist with maintenance and repair of irrigation systems, pumps, and related infrastructure.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts usage.
  • Coordinate with management to identify equipment needs and recommend repairs or replacements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe shop and work area.
  • Respond to emergency equipment breakdowns during feeding, planting, or harvesting operations.
  • May be required to operate ranch equipment and vehicles with or without trailers.
  • May be required to work, process, doctor, or haul livestock when given notice.
  • Follow all safety procedures and ensure equipment is compliant with safety standards.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally for business purposes, attendance of seminars, lectures, training etc.
  • All other duties as assigned.
