About The Position

The purpose of this position is to assist the location manager in a variety of tasks to make Mountain View Co-op (MVC) a successful operation. The Laborer must maintain a positive and cooperative attitude that promotes teamwork, integrity, honesty, and helpfulness. The Laborer must embrace and exhibit MVC’s philosophy and culture of customer service.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and understanding of: Basic math, MVC products and purposes, Safety rules, procedures, and practices
  • Ability to: Establish effective working relationships with management, co-workers, and the general public.
  • Ability to: Report to work on-time and as scheduled.
  • Ability to: Operate various equipment for loading and unloading.
  • Ability to: Read work orders or receive verbal instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
  • Ability to: Communicate effectively with others in both technical and non-technical terms.
  • Ability to: Work varied shifts and days as required of the position.
  • Valid Driver’s License issued by the State of Montana
  • Essential Physical Abilities: Clarity of speech and hearing that permits the employee to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Essential Physical Abilities: Clarity of vision to include; near and far vision, ability to focus while operating equipment, and ability to read printed materials.
  • Essential Physical Abilities: Manual dexterity that permits the employee to operate equipment, load and unload products, and move products.
  • Essential Physical Abilities: Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Essential Physical Abilities: Ability to walk, stand, and reach for the duration of the shift.
  • Essential Physical Abilities: Ability to occasionally stoop, kneel, and climb.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Experience: High School diploma or GED
  • Equipment operation
  • License/Certification: Forklift Certification or ability to obtain is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a positive customer service experience.
  • Establish and maintain a positive experience for MVC customers, clients, and vendors, through professional interpersonal interactions.
  • Maintain and repair facilities, equipment, and tools in order to ensure operational readiness, safety, and cleanliness.
  • Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions.
  • Load, unload, and move material to and from storage and production areas as needed.
  • Load containers and/or conveyers with product using forklifts, transfer augers, suction gates, shovels and/or pitchforks.
  • Maintain storage areas to ensure inventory is protected.
  • Perform all job duties and related tasks in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Report for duty in a fit condition, complying with the location dress code and acceptable personal hygiene.
  • Provide feedback to Managers.
  • Practice and encourage workplace safety.
  • Other duties as assigned.
