About The Position

Air Campaign Modeling and Simulation Analyst The Opportunity: Are you looking for an opportunity to combine your technical skills with big-picture thinking to make an impact on national defense and combat weapon system research and development? You understand your customer’s environment and how to develop the right systems for their mission. Your ability to translate real-world needs into technical specifications makes you an integral part of delivering a customer-focused engineering solution. As a systems engineer on our team, you’ll have the chance to assess and evaluate combat weapon systems using computer-based analytical tools, including the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, or Modeling (AFSIM) analytical framework, THUNDER campaign tool, MATLAB, and in-house post-processing tools. Your technical expertise will be vital as you evaluate and modernize combat weapon systems. You’ll directly impact the Department of Defense’s mission by identifying how factors such as force package design, order of battle, basing, and multi-domain operations affect the outcomes of long duration, theater-level campaigns. These analyses ultimately allow DoD leadership to make more informed decisions regarding the acquisition of future combat systems. You’ll develop your skills in critical thinking, data analytics, and operations analysis while gaining experience in constructive modeling and simulation of combat operations. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience using computer-based scripting or programming languages
  • 2+ years of experience performing DoD theater-level operational analyses
  • 2+ years of experience performing operational analysis using modeling and simulation software tools
  • Knowledge of U.S. and foreign combat weapon systems, including aircraft and ground-based air defense systems
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using AFSIM for operational analysis
  • Experience using campaign-level modeling and simulation tools such as STORM
  • Experience with Linux operating environment
  • Experience with data analytics or software development in an academic or professional environment
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Master’s degree in a STEM field
