About The Position

Are you looking for a managerial opportunity in aviation regulations and aircraft maintenance where you can support and protect heroes? Join our team! As an Aircraft Maintenance Manager I, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling all aircraft repair and maintenance activities and ensuring those activities are performed safely, on-time, and within budget. You'll ensure all foreign object inspections and activities are completed, ensure projects are properly staffed with qualified employees and establish work standards, hours of work and appropriate shifts to be worked to accomplish work on smaller, less complex programs. You'll also review maintenance delays and system problems in order to suggest improvements to maintenance processes and procedures. You will have overall responsibility for the airworthiness of the fleet and will ensure safe and adequate maintenance is performed at all times with the exception of platform support programs. Requirements

  • B.A. (or equivalent degree) - a higher level degree may substitute for relevant experience
  • Typically, 6+ years of progressive aviation experience, which includes 0-2+ years of management experience.
  • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
  • Experience with aviation safety standards and safe operating practices
  • General knowledge and understanding of FAA regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Experience with Aircraft Maintenance and Inspection processes and procedures and/or returning planes to service
  • A&P certification
  • This position requires current/active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous management or lead experience; the ability to recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence
  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant certification and Inspection Authorization (IA) Designation
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military
