RAVN provides combat or high maneuver training for pilots, RDT&E, and maintenance services with its fully owned fleet of aircraft. Job Description: Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Contract Avionics Installer with strong hands-on Garmin installation experience to support aircraft avionics upgrades and modifications. The selected individual must be capable of working independently, maintaining high-quality workmanship standards, and supporting integration efforts across multiple aircraft platforms.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of avionics installation experience.
  • Demonstrated hands-on Garmin installation experience with ability to lead installations.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft wiring standards, shielding, grounding, and coax termination.
  • Experience with ADS-B, WAAS GPS, transponders, and autopilot integration.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and installation manuals.
  • Experience in Part 91, Part 145, or experimental environments.
  • Own basic avionics tools.

Nice To Haves

  • A&P Certificate (preferred).
  • Garmin factory training (preferred).
  • Experience with legacy aircraft retrofit programs.
  • Experience in high-performance or turbine aircraft.

Responsibilities

  • Install, wire, and integrate Garmin avionics systems including G3X / G3X Touch, GI 275, GTN Series, GNX 375, GTX 345, and TXi displays.
  • Perform panel modifications, rack installations, antenna installations, and coax routing.
  • Fabricate and terminate wiring harnesses in accordance with aviation standards.
  • Perform system configuration, setup, and ground testing.
  • Support functional checks and flight test preparation.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues between avionics, autopilot, transponder, and ADS-B systems.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, STCs, and installation manuals.
  • Complete required maintenance documentation and logbook entries.
  • Coordinate with maintenance leadership and quality personnel to meet project timelines.
