About The Position

Purpose and Scope: Performs inspection, maintenance and troubleshooting tasks on assigned aircraft. Essential Responsibilities: Adheres to all Technical Orders, GOPs/SOPs, Air Force Instructions, and any other directives identified by Site Management or the PWS. Perform launch, recovery, scheduled and unscheduled inspections/maintenance. Preflight/thru flight/BPO inspections, ground handling, minor maintenance, and servicing. Perform routine troubleshooting, installation, repair and maintenance of all systems and components on the aircraft at the organizational level of maintenance. Services aircraft. Performs end-of-runway, post-flight, preflight, thru-flight, and phase inspections. Troubleshoots and maintains aircraft structures, systems, components, and related equipment. Removes and installs aircraft components. Performs inspections, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on the company aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer and company maintenance manuals and procedures. Provides OJT to other Mechanics/Technicians, to include signing off training records in accordance with the training/certification plan. Assists in implementing the Tool Control Program and may be required to staff the Tool Room section to meet contract performance requirements. Orders parts and equipment through the Air Force supply system and ensures supply discipline, categorizing orders in accordance with Air Force parts/supply/equipment urgency designators. Completes assigned training requirements during prescribed timelines. Operates vehicles on the flightline in accordance with local airfield driving requirements. Notifies Shift Lead when aircraft are “crew ready” in accordance with timelines prescribed by the Shift Lead. Conducts aircrew debriefs when assigned. Services, operates, and maintains ground support equipment and performs interior and exterior cleaning of aircraft and work areas. Completes aircraft forms and maintenance information systems documentation accurately, completing all documentation as soon as practical, but always prior to the end of shift. Perform all other position-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Six (6) years directly related to aircraft maintenance experience on KC-46 aircraft.
  • Experience must include complying with all applicable aircraft servicing procedures, aircraft maintenance manuals and parts catalogs, and/or FAA Airframe, Powerplant, or Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.
  • Must read, interpret and use manufacturers and aircraft maintenance manuals, service bulletins, blueprints, wiring/schematic diagrams, data tables and other specifications to determine feasibility and method to repair or replace malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Must have a current state issued drivers license.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • NOTE: U.S. citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work site.
