At Peraton, you won’t just support the mission — you’ll define it. Peraton is seeking an Alaska Workstream Safety Lead to support Weather and AAC efforts in Alaska. This role will provide safety leadership for project execution, field support, and operational activities, ensuring compliance with applicable safety requirements, promoting safe work practices, and supporting program leadership in maintaining a strong safety culture across remote and technically complex environments.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years or MS/MA with 6 years' or 12 years' with HS diploma.
  • Experience supporting safety programs in construction, infrastructure, field operations, or technically regulated environments.
  • Experience conducting safety inspections, compliance reviews, or field safety oversight.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and safe work practices.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to and support field sites and remote locations, as required.
  • Ability to work in austere environments and Arctic conditions, including remote site access and limited-amenity accommodations.
  • Willingness to comply with applicable site safety, badging, and operational requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting remote-site or Alaska-based operations.
  • Experience with federal safety requirements or contractor safety programs.
  • Relevant OSHA or safety certification/training.
  • Experience working with subcontractors in field environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safety planning and oversight for assigned Alaska workstreams.
  • Support implementation and monitoring of site safety requirements, procedures, and best practices.
  • Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and field personnel to ensure work is performed safely and in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Conduct safety reviews, field observations, inspections, and compliance checks, as required.
  • Monitor and track safety issues, corrective actions, and lessons learned.
  • Support job hazard analyses, activity hazard reviews, and pre-task planning.
  • Provide safety guidance to leadership and field teams regarding site conditions, work practices, and risk mitigation.
  • Support incident reporting, follow-up, and corrective action tracking, as necessary.
  • Promote continuous improvement in safety awareness, communication, and compliance.
