About The Position

The Alumni and Employer Relations Program Coordinator will create and coordinate employer and alumni engagement opportunities for students in the College of Liberal Arts at UT Austin. This position plays a crucial role in fostering meaningful connections between alumni and the college, supporting undergraduate students, and enhancing alumni engagement programming. The coordinator will report directly to the Director of Employer Relations and is expected to continue until October 7, 2028.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of experience administering or coordinating a program.
  • Demonstrated success in relationship building and establishing connections with internal and external contacts.
  • Previous experience creating/establishing a new program or system that produced positive business results.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute an event from planning to post-event breakdown.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data to make informed business recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguous projects and build the road map without a training manual.
  • Demonstrated high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience supporting employer or alumni engagement in a higher education context.
  • Familiarity with UT Austin systems and career services platforms (e.g., 12twenty, Symplicity, Handshake).
  • Experience with cloud-based tools like Airtable or Canvas.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance Alumni Engagement Programming by fostering meaningful opportunities for alumni to connect with the college.
  • Provide support for programming that supports undergraduate students in the College of Liberal Arts.
  • Develop a culture of alumni engagement with the 12twenty Platform.
  • Research and identify alumni connections via LinkedIn.
  • Assess Career Service outcomes using the 12twenty Platform and liaise with the Texas Career Success team.
  • Develop strategies to increase alumni engagement as measured by the first destination survey.
  • Collaborate with units across the College of Liberal Arts to assess program needs and streamline processes.
  • Develop effective communication and marketing strategies to increase alumni and student engagement.
  • Manage programming setup, logistics, and outcome recaps.
  • Represent Liberal Arts Career Services in on-campus and off-campus meetings.
  • Research and create career-related content for students, alumni, and employer collateral.
  • Assist career services staff with office events, including career fairs.
