About The Position

The per diem Ambulatory Services Trainer will facilitate and run Ambulatory classes, including Ambulatory Orientation, customer service classes, and Joint Commission preparedness training. The Trainer opportunity is a hybrid position at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA, with mandatory on-site presence for the Ambulatory Orientation component. Job Description: The Ambulatory Services Trainer is responsible for contributing to the design of Ambulatory training and orientation classes, and for facilitating those classes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 8-10 years related work experience required.
  • Confidence as a trainer in large and small group settings.
  • Presentation and facilitation ability to build rapport with small and large audiences alike.
  • Experience designing and delivering experiential training programs.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Must be self-directed and demonstrate ability to manage workload and competing priorities.
  • Ability to be flexible, versatile and adaptable.
  • Must be an effective communicator with impeccable written and verbal skills.
  • Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Organizational Behavior preferred.
  • Knowledge of healthcare operations in the Ambulatory setting a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Ambulatory Services Program Manager, designs and facilitates trainings and orientations, both virtually and in person, with a particular focus on patient experience and communication skills.
  • Provides written training outlines/proposals as well as summaries for training curriculum database.
  • Provides regular and formal feedback to the Ambulatory Services Program Manager regarding training design and makes recommendations for curriculum updates to keep trainings fresh and relevant.
