About The Position

Thank you for considering a career at Mercy Health! Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Mercy Express driver will provide curb to curb vehicle transport of clients between two locations. Assisting clients in transportations within SRHP facilities, in a timely, efficient and safe manner for appointments to and from various departments. Will provide both wheelchair and Mercy Express transportation. Summary: Ambulette attendant will provide direct movement and transportation of wheelchair clients between locations. Ambulette attendant will operate an ambulette vehicle in a safe and efficient manner. Ambulette attendant will operate a wheelchair lift and/or manually push a wheelchair in the movement of a client into and out of the vehicle. Requirements

  • Required Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Licensure/Certification Required: Valid Driver’s License
  • Minimum Years and Type of Experience: 1-3 years
  • Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) within 1 year of hire
  • Required: IS 100; IS 700 within 6 months

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Licensure/Certification Preferred: AHA Healthcare provider BLS or (within 30 days of hire)
  • Licensure/Certification Preferred: First Aid Training or (within 30 days of hire)
  • Licensure/Certification Preferred: IS 100, IS 700
  • Licensure/Certification Preferred: DRIVE Training within 60 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Transport clients by wheelchair to and from appointments
  • Transport clients by wheelchair for hospital discharge
  • Maintain proper reports and records
  • Provides proper care, safe, and efficient transport
  • Care for vehicle and equipment
  • Serve as a patient advocate
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Maintains confidentiality and actively supports patient/family rights
