About The Position

TheraPeds Partners is a therapist-owned and operated organization. We partner with schools to provide American Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) services to PreK–12 students nationwide. As a team of special education providers, we understand the education process, IDEA requirements, and the importance of collaboration within multidisciplinary teams. Our mission is to deliver high-quality ASL (SPED) services while making meaningful connections in a collaborative learning environment. This is a full-time, on-site role as a American Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) serving a school located in Greenwood Village, CO. The American Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) will be responsible for providing services to students in the classroom setting, meetings with families and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for working with students with special needs. Full-time, 37.5 hours/week March – May (25/26) School Year, 8-12 weeks On-site, in-person K – 12 grades Covering 2-5 schools $50– $65+/hour ($1,800 - $2400/week) Competitive pay Dual support from the District and TheraPeds Guaranteed hours, including documentation, administrative and planning time. This position will be a W-2 employee

Requirements

  • American Sign Language Interpretation Certification
  • EIPA score (3.5+)
  • Passing written test
  • Documentation submitted to CDE
  • Fluency in ASL and English
  • Schools expect strong receptive and expressive ASL skills and the ability to interpret classroom instruction and student interactions accurately.
  • Background check and fingerprinting
  • Ability to support students throughout the school day
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications
  • Working and playing with students requires that employees must be able to perform the necessary physical movement functions, as needed, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities, while adhering to the duties outlined by the district.

Nice To Haves

  • RID certification (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf)
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree, preferred
  • Interpreter Training Program (ITP) or ASL-English interpreting degree
  • Experience interpreting in K-12 classrooms
  • Knowledge of IDEA and IEP processes
