JOB PURPOSE The Americas Logistics Manager is responsible for driving logistics performance, cost optimization, and governance across assigned plants within the region. Acting as a strategic business partner, this role leads regional sourcing initiatives, identifies structural improvement opportunities, and ensures supplier performance and process discipline translate into sustainable financial impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8 + years of experience in logistics transportation and warehousing.
  • Thorough understanding of transportation markets across the Americas.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proven experience in regional sourcing, carrier negotiations, and transportation contract management.
  • Experience managing 3PL and/or 4PL providers under structured performance governance.
  • Experience operating in complex, multi-country logistics environments.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills to build relationships with process owners and department stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical capability, including variance analysis, cost modeling, business case development, and scenario evaluation.
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to adapt to market changes and drive innovation.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to translate strategy into structured execution with measurable outcomes.

  • Spanish language skills are an advantage in supporting collaboration across the Americas region.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the Logistics and Procurement focal point for assigned plants and categories.
  • Lead and execute and implement RFQs for ocean (FCL/LCL), road (LTL/FTL), air freight, and warehouse services.
  • Monitor and manage transportation KPIs (OTD, cost per kg/km, demurrage, detention, premium freight, lead time stability, carrier performance).
  • Maintain structured dashboards with defined monthly review cadence.
  • Drive fact-based prioritization and decision-making.
  • Lead negotiations and manage contracts with shipping lines, freight forwarders, airlines, trucking companies, rail providers, warehouse providers, and 4PL partners.
  • Maintain compliance with sourcing procedures and governance standards.
  • Support supplier recommendations and implement sourcing decisions based on structured analysis.
  • Prepare business case analyses for logistics and transportation opportunities presented to senior management.
  • Conduct cost analyses, scenario simulations, and data evaluations to support sourcing decisions.
  • Lead annual cost reduction initiatives and other value improvement projects with regional plants.
  • Own end-to-end logistics spend through mandatory monthly tracking and documented variance analysis.
  • Ensure full alignment with IMCIP and approved BBP targets.
  • Optimize modal mix and service solutions based on cost, capacity, and operational needs.
  • Proactively identify cost risks, financial exposure, and savings opportunities.
  • Maintain documented scenario evaluations to support decision-making.
  • Escalate financial risks with mitigation plans before impact materialization.
  • Ensure full compliance with defined logistics processes (carrier onboarding, freight deviations, emergency freight, performance reviews).
  • Enforce approval workflows and governance standards across plants.
  • Reduce manual interventions, exceptions, and off-system transactions.
  • Act as escalation owner for service disruptions and critical freight instability.
  • Ensure alignment between freight execution and contractual conditions.
  • Maintain structured freight rate tables aligned with plants and freight audit tools.
  • Manage 3PL/4PL providers with formal KPI governance and review cadence.
  • Ensure service providers present structured performance reviews including savings validation and market benchmarking.
  • Perform ROI validation (fees vs realized savings).
  • Drive SLA enforcement and corrective action tracking.
  • Ensure documented evaluation criteria for carrier selection decisions.
  • Define, document, and deploy core logistics processes across assigned plants.
  • Translate strategic frameworks into operational execution with clear ownership.
  • Track process adherence and close gaps through structured follow-up.
  • Develop structured reports, dashboards, charts, graphs, and statistical analysis for leadership review.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination across plants and corporate functions, ensuring alignment, accountability, and execution consistency.
  • Coordinate supplier issues with applicable functional organizations (Procurement, Finance, Customs, Operations)
