Who we’re looking for Toyota’s TMNA Corporate Accounting Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Analyst, Benefits Accounting. The primary responsibilities of this role are to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting entries, reconciliation and reporting for all North American entities and work closely with Human Resources Benefits group to validate coding of benefit cost transactions to ensure proper financial statement classification and administration of Blackline. A successful candidate will have the following: Proven analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and process improvement skills. Ability to work well independently under demanding deadlines and function effectively in a team-based environment. Enthusiastic self-starter with ability to multitask, be flexible, and adaptable in a changing environment. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with multiple working groups. Organized and detail oriented. Reporting to the Manager, Payroll & Benefits, the person in this role will support the Corporate Accounting’s department's objective of timely financial close and accurate reporting of financial information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience with accounting, financial reporting, finance, or other relevant experience.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in MS Excel skills and ability to work with systems.
  • Mainframe/transactional system experience with SAP, BPC (Business Planning & Consolidations) and Blackline.

Nice To Haves

  • Current CPA license.
  • Automobile industry experience.
  • SAP S4/Hana Cloud knowledge or experience.
  • Blackline experience as a Business Administrator
  • Knowledge in system interfaces.
  • Experience analyzing large volumes of data.

Responsibilities

  • Validate coding of benefit cost transactions to ensure proper financial statement classification.
  • Access benefit provider portal to retrieve billing/plan transactions for recording in the general ledger.
  • Perform timely cash clearing of benefit items to avoid aged reconciling items.
  • Certify tasks and account reconciliation in Blackline to evidence timely completeness.
  • Collaborate with HR Benefits and Risk Management on cost allocation per entity.
  • Process request forms from Blackline end users.
  • Provide support, training and management reports to Blackline end users.
  • Perform monthly SOX controls while supporting external/internal audits with controls testing.
  • Update desk procedures, relevant policies, SOX narratives and process flows.
  • Stay up-to-date with Blackline updates and collaborate with IT for system upgrades and enhancements.
