Role The Sponsor Coverage Analyst develops critical insights and analyses in support of senior Sponsor Coverage bankers and private equity (“PE”) client strategies.

Requirements

  • Harris Williams hires individuals who are motivated by challenge, demonstrated through academic performance combined with involvement outside the classroom, which can include: participation in sports, student led organizations, or work experience while completing a degree.
  • No specific academic major is required; however, the following skillsets are desired: Excel – Understanding of formulas, data validation, macros, tables, conditional formatting PowerPoint – Slide creation & design Data Analysis – Sorting data to identify key trends Problem solving – Able to identify trends in data and articulate the impact of those patterns
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Eligible candidates should be working towards or already possess a Bachelor's degree from a four-year institution
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher as a prerequisite

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and manage HW proprietary data analyses, including buyer performance and behavior, valuation trends and observations, process dynamics, pitch activity, etc. and assist in funneling insights to both Sponsor Coverage and HW deal teams in preparation for client meetings
  • Track private equity industry trends and broader macro-economic data to inform HW’s market insights.
  • Leverage Excel and PowerPoint to prepare ad hoc analysis and client-ready materials, including peer comparison analyses, deal history, relationship updates, and qualitative insights in support of client meetings and origination activities.
  • Collaborate with senior Sponsor Coverage bankers and HW Industry Group bankers to drive highly strategic , targeted, and efficient lead pursuit.
  • Partner closely with HW ’s data services and technology teams to help optimize and inform ongoing development of key reports , as well as ad hoc projects and firm analyses in support of HW firm leadership
  • Participate in a robust training program designed to build relationships, provide baseline knowledge of M&A, and prepare you for your role in the Sponsor Coverage Group.
