About The Position

Monitors and assesses operational systems that manage outage restoration, identifies and troubleshoots issues, and documents maintenance activities to ensure reliability, availability, and efficient service restoration for electric distribution operations. Job Description: Monitors and troubleshoots Outage Management Systems (OMS) and related systems to maintain optimal performance, minimize downtime, and ensure uninterrupted outage management. Analyzes system data and generates reports/dashboards to identify discrepancies, support accurate outage reporting, and provide actionable insights for improved decision-making. Develops and maintains OMS documentation to ensure compliance and facilitate knowledge transfer across teams. Provides Tier 2 support and configures technical components (applications, networks, servers, databases, desktops) to resolve issues and enable timely, accurate restoration activities. Coordinates with IT and operations teams to implement updates and integrations that enhance control center capabilities and optimize outage response. Configures and troubleshoots OMS and Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) applications and servers to resolve technical issues efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance. Supports daily operations and collaborates with customers and internal teams to ensure smooth workflows, and improve service delivery. Follows established company policies, procedures, and standards to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and industry regulations. Participates in storm restoration tasks and assigned drills to contribute to the safe and reliable recovery of services. Performs additional tasks aligned with role expectations and qualifications to support team goals and operational flexibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • 3 years' experience in IT systems support, OT environments, or application troubleshooting preferably within electric distribution or a similar utility operations setting.
  • Additional experience may substitute for required education when it aligns with the competencies and knowledge necessary for the role: Associate’s degree in a relevant field may substitute when accompanied by a minimum of 5 years of experience performing similar functions and at least 3 years of experience performing a previous Analyst role.
  • Must be available to work overtime, weekends, holidays, rotating shifts and outside of regular shift hours as needed, including during emergency response situations, to support critical operations during outages and emergencies.
  • Familiarity with OMS , ADMS, SCADA and/or distribution networks is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment, including storm restoration and on-call rotations.
  • Proficiency in Oracle and databases.
  • Knowledge in SQL database administrator is preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Strong ability to analyze complex data sets, identify trends, and make quick data driven decisions.
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication for cross-functional collaboration.
  • High accuracy in data validation and system configuration.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license
