About the position

The Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mining, Land & Water, is recruiting for an Analyst/Programmer 1/2/3/4 in Anchorage. This position is open to Alaska Residents only. As a full-time Analyst/Programmer 1 through 4, you will be working with a fun, creative team to maintain DMLW's website and web application stack; developing, testing and producing web-based line-of-business applications and databases of varying levels of complexity in support of the State of Alaska's land and water management; along with documenting your work, supporting users via a support ticketing system, and continuous improvement of processes as a team. Your work will actively benefit Alaska, Alaskans, your coworkers, both immediate and across the division, and our division's mission of putting Alaska's resources to work - now and in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain DMLW's website and web application stack.
  • Develop, test, and produce web-based line-of-business applications.
  • Document work and support users via a support ticketing system.
  • Engage in continuous improvement of processes as a team.
  • Mentor junior developers and assist in project prioritization if selected as a Senior Developer or A/P 4.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of nine (9) semester hours of college-level coursework in computer languages or system analysis, or three months of actual computer programming experience, or one year of work experience using a computer for analysis.
  • One year of computer programming experience in a recognized computer language for Analyst/Programmer 2.
  • Two years of computer programming experience in a recognized computer language for Analyst/Programmer 3.
  • Four years of computer programming experience in a recognized computer language for Analyst/Programmer 4.
  • Knowledge of C#, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS programming languages.
  • Understanding of mid-level SQL Queries and database design.

Nice-to-haves

  • Full-stack development experience.
  • Experience working with version control software in a production environment.
  • Business analysis skills to determine user needs.
