About The Position

Project Management Analyst Job Summary The Analyst, Project Management will support project teams in planning, managing, and evaluating strategic HR projects and other strategic initiatives for core HR functions. This role serves as a critical liaison to relevant stakeholders to ensure projects are running efficiently and smoothly. This person will identify and document risks or roadblocks to mitigate project disruptions. This role will help enable USC’s vision while championing USC’s culture and values.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or combined experience/education as a substitute for minimum education.
• Three or more years of experience in one or more of the following fields: project management, business administration, or other relevant fields.
• Experience developing status reports, producing project plans and schedules, and managing project budgets.
• Ability to prioritize competing assignments and work under pressure with tight deadlines and frequent interruptions.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills, able to provide concise information and guidance as needed with attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills, able to think strategically and creatively.
• Demonstrated sound judgment, able to work independently and proactively and make decisions with minimal supervision.
• Ability to exercise discretion with confidential information.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g., MS Project, Visio).

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in business, communications, or another related field.
• Five years’ experience in complex, long term, end-to-end project management.
• Experience preparing and maintaining program transactions, records, statistical data, reports, and other documents.
• Ability to provide input on developing and evaluating program policies and procedures.
• Experience communicating with project sponsors, senior management, functional managers and/or consultants.
• Experience in higher education.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and relationship-building abilities.
• Experience with project portfolio management tools.

Responsibilities

• Partnering with HR project team members and relevant stakeholders to develop program requirements and project plans.
• Collecting data and tracking progress and metrics across projects to identify trends.
• Assisting in preparing teams for lifecycle reviews and external audits.
• Demonstrating understanding of and communicating to stakeholders for the program contributes to the overall business goals of the university.
• Completing project management activities according to specified project management methodology.
• Developing project management materials, tools, and templates to support HR project managers.
• Assisting with the delivery of regular updates by participating in project team meetings and creating reports detailing project progress and compliance.
• Assisting with appropriate organizational change management strategies for HR project/program initiatives, as needed.
• Monitoring and reporting regularly on change efforts and progress.
• Maintaining open lines of communication with project, organizational and university stakeholders.
• Maintaining currency with relevant technology, standards, and leading practices.
• Identifying and implementing innovations to streamline, automate or improve existing program management processes.
• Adjusting working style based on project team to maximize value added.
• Collecting and analyzing project data to identify overall program trends and forecast future dependencies and risks.
• Communicating analysis to appropriate stakeholders.
• Escalating risks and issues following proper change control processes.
• Making recommendations to project team based on data analysis and communicating analyses to appropriate stakeholders.
