About The Position

Jupiter Power is an energy infrastructure company focused on the development, construction, trading and operation of battery energy storage assets across U.S. power markets. Formed in 2017, the company is a national leader in energy storage deployment, utilizing its proprietary optimization applications daily to dispatch its fleet and support its offtake customers. Backed by BlackRock’s Diversified Infrastructure business, Jupiter Power has a strategic portfolio of nearly 2,300 MW / 5,000 MWh in operations or under construction and a pipeline of over 12,000 MW in new projects in development. We are seeking an Analyst, Regulatory Compliance to join our Regulatory team. This role will be based out of our Austin, TX office and is subject to our Company’s return-to-office policy which currently requires a minimum of three days a week in the office. Jupiter seeks individuals eager to develop their core professional knowledge, learn new areas of the business, and take on additional responsibilities within Jupiter’s dynamic team. Secondary responsibilities will be tailored to individual candidate backgrounds as well as company priorities.

Requirements

  • Relevant degree with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the energy industry.
  • Working experience with State Public Utility Commission (PUC) compliance.
  • Working knowledge of organized wholesale electricity markets (e.g., ERCOT, CAISO, PJM, MISO, NYISO, ISO-NE, SPP, etc.) Protocols, practices, and compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Advanced research and writing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage deliverables for multiple projects at a time.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, up to 15% of the time.
  • High comfort level with small teams and fast-moving organizations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with utility-scale battery storage or renewable energy projects strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation, submission, and tracking of routine and ad hoc compliance deliverables (e.g., RFIs, reports, filings, records, etc) for various agencies including, but not limited to, ISO/RTOs, PUCs, FERC, and other applicable local, state, and federal authorities.
  • Maintain compliance evidence repository and documentation & records, including shared folders, inboxes, filing calendars, tracking tools, and internal resources.
  • Support the development and on-going maintenance of procedures, manuals, reference materials, and internal controls.
  • Provide project management support to ensure regulatory initiatives and obligations are executed accurately and on schedule.
  • Proactively identify and implement improvements to reporting processes, data accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Support internal groups (O&M, Engineering, Asset Management, Remote Operations Center, and Market Operations) in understanding compliance obligations and associated deliverables by developing and implementing tools and training.
  • Support research, planning, and preparation of new project compliance readiness efforts.
  • Coordinate activities across internal and external stakeholders and track follow-up actions associated with regulatory initiatives.
  • Prepare reports and presentation materials on compliance activities.
