About The Position

This position provides general primary and preventive health care counseling and treatment for patients in accordance with licensure and approved privileges. The position works as a team member to support patients to achieve health goals and/or improvement in health outcomes. Provides care to patients at our main campus Family Medicine Clinic, off site clinics, and specialty clinics: Schools, rural clinics, mobile unit, Hep C, Ryan White, Pediatrics, MSK, etc.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited program in Physician Associate Studies or Advanced Practice Degree in Nursing
  • Any combination of experience and training which provide the equivalent scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.
  • Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Licensed in the State of Montana, in good standing
  • Must be credentialed and privileged in accordance with RiverStone Health Clinic processes.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Computer literacy, in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to maintain a calm and positive demeanor during difficult client interactions.
  • Ability to display non-judgmental and empathetic listening skills.
  • High degree of detail-oriented skill level.
  • Knowledge and understanding of protected sensitive patient health information (HIPAA) and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Ability to perform job duties with integrity and innovation to ensure completion and a high level of quality.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to required administrative policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills to ensure efficiencies and quality customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Counsel and educate patients about health issues such as diet, nutrition, emotional and mental health, sexually transmitted diseases, cancer, and contraceptives.
  • Assess patient’s health lifestyle, including taking a complete medical history of the patient.
  • Review medications patients are taking.
  • Perform physical examinations of patients.
  • Collect medical specimens and performs several basic medical tests.
  • Order medical laboratory tests and/or X-rays.
  • Evaluate medical test results and interpret them to patients.
  • Treat patient’s diagnosed conditions.
  • Provide surgical and/or other medical referrals as necessary.
  • Keep immediate supervisor and designated others accurately informed concerning work progress, including present and potential work problems and suggestions for new or improved ways of addressing such problems.
  • Attend regularly scheduled didactic sessions, meetings, conferences, workshops, and training sessions and review publications and audio-visual materials to become and remain current on principles, practices, and new developments in assigned work areas.
  • Responds to patients’ and citizens’ questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other RiverStone Health programs to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of interdepartmental operations and activities.
  • Participates in fulfilling the vision, mission, goals and objectives of RiverStone Health.
  • Participates in competency evaluation reviews with the Residency Program Director.
  • Engages in providing and receiving feedback related to Residency operations and training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of RiverStone Health’s mission and goals.
