Application Developer is responsible for analyzing business requirements and problems and driving research to design quality technical solutions. This individual, working with other developers and the SEO and UX teams, will be involved in portions of the full systems life cycle (based on experience/skills) and is responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting applications. Application Developers handle complex problems independently and demonstrate analytical thinking. They are able to make judgements and recommendations based on the analysis and interpretation of data. Application Developer responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following: Design, develop and implement small to medium-sized applications supporting business needs. Build initial prototypes to facilitate business feedback on potential user functionality contributing to build vs. buy decisions. Design, develop and implement middleware application software to integrate between existing COTS applications. Evaluate and understand requirements for new initiatives, document and carry the development life cycle from development into production. Utilize McLeod’s Flowlogix facility to enhance functionality in RLG’s McLeod implementation. Work with other developers to design, develop and implement new features, enhancements, and content on existing and new Wordpress websites. Maintain and customize existing Wordpress Plugins along with regular updates to website frameworks and databases. Make recommendations towards the development of new code or the reuse of existing code. Generate documentation for multiple programming functions such as design documents, mapping documents, process maps, and training documents. Conduct root cause analysis for issues as required. Provide technical advice and assist in solving programming problems. Work closely with project management to ensure successful, on-time delivery.
