Position: Intern – Application Engineering / Sales Support Reports to: Inside Sales Manager/Standard Business Location: Richmond VA (On-Site) Position Overview We are seeking a motivated to support our Application Engineering and Inside Sales team in Richmond, VA. This internship provides hands-on exposure to technical sales support, pump application know-how, engineering documentation, and data management within an international industrial environment. The intern will assist with preparing basic quotations, maintaining Excel-based databases, and supporting internal and customer-facing presentations.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formulas, tables, data organization)
- Familiarity with PowerPoint and basic presentation design
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Interest in engineering, industrial equipment, or technical sales support
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Exposure to technical or mechanical concepts
- Previous internship or co-op experience
Responsibilities
- Support Application Engineers with simple pump selections, quotations, and pricing requests
- Maintain and update Excel databases (quotes, product data, and internal tracking tools)
- Assist with sales support activities, including document preparation and data organization
- Create and update PowerPoint presentations for internal and customer use
- Help organize technical documentation, drawings, and specifications
- Perform general administrative and project-based tasks typical of an engineering intern role
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Order Management, and Engineering
