About The Position

Summary: Provide project engineering and pre-sale support to the sales and project team. Manage all aspects of small-scale capital equipment packaging projects including development, engineering, design, implementation, project specifications, equipment procurement, financials, scheduling, integration, installation, start-up and project closure from inception through entire project life-cycle.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related field, at least two years of related work experience: or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as legal documents, AutoCAD/Solidworks drawings, technical descriptions and specifications, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and write proposals, routine reports and correspondence and respond appropriately to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present technical information to groups of customers or associates of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as pricing structures, foreign exchange conversions, package geometry, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Experience using Proficient in AutoCAD Inventor 3D modeling, AutoCAD 2D design software (required), Creo Parametric software, 3DS Max, and Java script a plus SolidWorks and AutoCAD along with Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, Internet software, Contact Management systems and Database software. Must be proficient in the use of the MS Office Suite and Windows platform.
  • Current valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a passport for travel as required by position.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of capital equipment packaging projects including development, design, engineering, implementation, project specifications, equipment procurement, project budget, integration, and installation. Manage project from concept through the entire project life-cycle.
  • Review customer machine specifications including any recommended exceptions. Solicit RFP’s from suppliers to incorporate into client proposals for packaging equipment. Review RFQ’s to generate material costs and incorporate into overall bid. Factor lead times into project timeline.
  • Liaison responsibilities with customers, suppliers, and internal employees involved in the process (e.g., technical services, product managers, etc.). Diplomacy exercised in cultural differences between teams in North America and Europe.
  • Work with management to assure sufficient resources are estimated and allocated to each project.
  • Lead project kick-off and engineering review meetings with vendors and customers. Coordinate with internal team members for timely completion of assigned tasks/responsibilities.
  • Develop project plans, workflows, timelines, critical paths and determine potential risks.
  • Manage overall project budget, procurement of equipment, and any change orders through the entire life-cycle.
  • Develop and execute pre-delivery inspections, final site acceptance qualification procedures, tests for validation requirements, and all field acceptance testing.
  • Stay current on new equipment technologies for ULMA and Mondini lines and travel to Spain and Italy respectively for additional training and equipment familiarization. Travel to various North American client sites for installations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of critical or competitive information.
  • Be receptive to on-going coaching and training to further develop professional skill set.
