Our Technology Solutions Group is seeking an experienced Application & Platform Manager. The Application & Platform Manager for Internal Systems is responsible for the lifecycle management, support, and evolution of BIW's core internal data platforms, including the Automated Data Center (ADC), Informatica Power Center (on premises), and any future systems that replace these. This role is not customer-facing, but is critical to the reliability, security, and modernization of BIW's internal data movement and transformation infrastructure. Additionally, this role is responsible for the software that BIW uses to send program participant communications, including email via Strongmail and SMS via Sinch. This role partners closely with our engineering and infrastructure teams and is not expected to individually execute all operational work. This is an individual contributor role.

Requirements

Expertise in GitLab for version control and CI/CD.
Expertise in system integrations (REST APIs, ETL, messaging) and automation/orchestration.
Expertise in infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Terraform).
Expertise in AWS services (ECS, EC2, RDS, IAM, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, networking, security).
Working knowledge of microservice architecture concepts and their practical application.
Working knowledge of Linux server administration.
Working knowledge of security/compliance principles and role‑based access controls (RBAC).
Strong working knowledge of BIW's core tech stack: Oracle, PostgreSQL, Java-based web applications, and Tomcat on Linux; along with Java, JavaScript, and Python within multi‑tier client/server environments.

Responsibilities

Platform Ownership & Strategy
Own the roadmap and lifecycle for internal data and messaging platforms
Define standards for integrations, security, and data movement
Oversee integration design (APIs, ETL, message queues) and cross system data integrity.
Lead the evaluation, planning and adoption of new technologies that may replace ADC and Informatica Power Center, including planning for cloud migration or alternative ETL/data integration platforms.
Maintain documentation and follow best practices for internal application management.
Reliability, Risk, and Compliance
Oversee the operation, maintenance, user access, enhancements and compliance for ADC, Informatica Power Center, Strongmail, and Sinch.
Maintain systems with 24x7 uptime, monitor proactively, and resolve issues quickly.
Lead troubleshooting efforts, resolve issues quickly, and remediate software as needed for internal systems.
Ensure secure, compliant, and reliable delivery of all batch and transactional email communications.
Ensure compliance with current and evolving requirements, including FTC CAN-SPAM, FCC TCPA, and CTIA guidelines, to ensure all email and SMS communications meet regulatory standards and carrier requirements.
Ensure reliable delivery of SMS-based program participant communications.
Support audit and compliance reviews, providing documentation and expertise as required.
Define and monitor bounce back, reply, and sender addresses for all email campaigns, ensuring deliverability and proper handling of responses and notifications.
Team Enablement & Collaboration
Partner with delivery teams without being a delivery bottleneck
Enable teams rather than personally owning every operational task
Provide technical direction and support for the engineering team.
Ensure secure, compliant, and efficient data movement between internal systems.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into system requirements and enhancements.
Maintain documentation and follow best practices for internal application management.
