About The Position

Applications Engineers demonstrate the highest level of technical proficiency and engineering skills as they ensure NI and customer success! This is a unique role that requires strong technical leadership, desire to work with people, and personal drive. Applications Engineers serve as trusted consultants who stay abreast of industry and technology trends. Successful Applications Engineers effectively balance time between customer and internal activities that demonstrate their knowledge of NI products and customer applications. In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Deliver test and measurement system design consulting for Aerospace/Defense customers in collaboration with the Sales team Create technology demonstrator systems and application notes in collaboration with Aerospace/Defense Business Manager and R&D teams Capture Voice of the Customer feedback for R&D team Who You Are: You balance planning with actions. Requirements

  • STEM-related bachelor’s degree (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Telecommunications, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or related fields)
  • U.S. citizenship due to customer and project requirements
  • Ability to travel up to 20%

Nice To Haves

  • Strong understanding of signals and systems, RF fundamentals, and data acquisition principles
  • Experience with measurement systems, instrumentation, and automated test workflows
  • Familiarity with programming languages used in test automation (LabVIEW, C/C++, or Python)
  • Exposure to common test equipment such as oscilloscopes, VNAs, spectrum analyzers, power meters, or signal generators
  • Hands-on experience (coursework, labs, internships, or projects) with electronic test systems

Responsibilities

  • Deliver test and measurement system design consulting for Aerospace/Defense customers in collaboration with the Sales team
  • Create technology demonstrator systems and application notes in collaboration with Aerospace/Defense Business Manager and R&D teams
  • Capture Voice of the Customer feedback for R&D team
