Position Overview The position requires the applicant to apply analytical and semi-empirical aerodynamic prediction tools to the design and analysis of flight vehicles. The employee will also support aerodynamic design trade studies, performance assessments, testing, and development of high-fidelity aerodynamic characterizations of flight vehicles.

Requirements

  • The position requires a minimum of a BS degree in Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 3.25 and 2-4 years of industry experience in a related field.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in programming languages Python or Matlab.
  • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
  • The ability to collaborate constructively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Be willing to try and learn new skills, and to refine existing skills.
  • Must be a US citizen and possess the ability to obtain and maintain a DoW security clearance.
  • The candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area, or willing to relocate, to work on-site at the Huntsville, AL campus.

Nice To Haves

  • It is preferred that the candidate possesses a MS degree in Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.25 and 0-3 years of related experience.
  • Experience with industry-standard aerodynamic prediction tools and experience in wind tunnel testing.
  • Prior experience with computational fluid dynamics.
