About The Position

The Applied AI Specialist is an execution-focused role for someone early in their career who is passionate about applying AI to real business challenges. This position focuses on driving practical AI adoption by helping teams use tools like Microsoft Copilot and other approved AI technologies in their daily work. This is not an engineering or data science role; instead, the specialist partners closely with business teams to identify opportunities, implement practical AI-enabled solutions, and support adoption across the organization. Reporting to the VP of Information Systems, this role provides exposure to enterprise initiatives and helps build early momentum for AI-driven processes across the business. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required in a discipline providing exposure to applied technology, analytics, information systems, business, or a related field.
  • Early-career experience (0–3 years) applying technology or automation tools in a business environment.
  • Demonstrated interest in and hands-on exposure to AI tools, particularly UI-driven or embedded AI experiences.
  • Foundational understanding of prompting concepts and how AI tools can be applied to everyday work.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage multiple priorities with guidance and support.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting training, enablement, or change initiatives.
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new AI tools and techniques.
  • Comfort experimenting, iterating, and learning through hands-on use.
  • Interest in growing into more advanced applied AI or enablement roles over time.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools such as Teams, Outlook, Word, and Copilot.

Responsibilities

  • Support and contribute to applied AI initiatives that deliver incremental, real-world business value.
  • Partner with business teams to identify practical opportunities where AI tools can improve productivity, clarity, or consistency.
  • Configure, build, and support AI-enabled solutions such as Copilot agents, prompts, and workflows under guidance from senior IS leaders.
  • Help teams adopt AI solutions by embedding them into existing workflows and providing hands-on support.
  • Train and coach team members on effective AI usage, including prompting fundamentals and responsible AI practices.
  • Act as an approachable point of contact for AI questions, experimentation, and enablement.
  • Collaborate with Information Systems partners to ensure AI usage aligns with approved tools, security standards, and governance expectations.
  • Track adoption, feedback, and outcomes to help refine solutions and inform future AI efforts.
  • Maintain basic documentation of use cases, learnings, and repeatable patterns to support organizational learning.
  • Continuously learn about emerging AI tools and features relevant to business users and frontline adoption.
