About The Position

Under the direction of the Chief Appraiser, the Appraisal Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support on appraisal/appraiser related activities and general administrative duties.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED; and a minimum 2-3 years appraisal related processing experience. Knowledge of appraisal regulations, rules, practices and forms. Knowledge of bookkeeping/invoice reconciliation.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry, and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel)
  • Proficient in the use of mainframe loan systems, preferably FISERV
  • Proficient in the use of Appraisal software
  • Proficient in use of RIMS, an appraisal bidding and workflow management program.

Responsibilities

  • Complies with and stays abreast of all policies and procedures, federal and state laws applicable to the job function.
  • Track and monitor appraisal requests using RIMS (or other appraisal tracking software) and assists in addressing production issues. Communicate with account officers and other interested parties concerning appraisal status/delivery. Work proactively to answer questions of vendors or customers in the Bank. Assist in ensuring timely delivery of appraisals and other reports essential to the Department’s workflow. Maintain an effective and efficient workflow throughout the appraisal review process.
  • In conjunction with the Chief Appraiser, maintains the Bank’s Approved Appraiser List
  • Maintain working knowledge of all systems, programs, and software’s utilized by the department.
  • Maintain proper accounting of fees and perform periodic certifications and reconcilements as required by the Bank’s Policies/Procedures. Ensure prompt payment of vendor invoices (using Connect or other platform used by Citizens) and reconciliation of payments and invoices using Blackline (or other system)
  • Prepare, maintain and disseminate all required reports.
  • Provide, present and promote The Citizens Experience to all external and internal customers.
  • Perform general clerical duties including answering phones, ordering office supplies, filing and record keeping.
  • Assist as needed in performing basic administrative reviews of evaluations and residential appraisals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
