About The Position

As an Appraiser Reviewer you'll be responsible for performing internal appraisal reviews on 1 - 4 family unit properties for compliance with corporate policy and standards, Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and HUD guidelines. You'll analyze valuations to determine their reasonableness, defensibility, and validate accuracy. One of your key responsibilities is to follow processes to ensure risks are measured, monitored, and controlled and compliance requirements are adhered to on an on-going basis. Responsible for supporting the Appraisal Operations Manager by conducting desk reviews of appraisals for the delegated Correspondent Lending division. Provide valuation services for various AmeriHome departments (Servicing, Secondary/Post Closing, etc.) as needed. Maintain appraisal and valuation service work files as required under USPAP

Requirements

  • 4+ years of related experience in Residential Appraisal or similar field.
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
  • Appraisal desk review experience in a multi-state environment; multiple formats including narrative.
  • Institutional (bank, mortgage company, etc.) experience preferred.
  • Field experience – appraisals, field reviews, etc.
  • Intermediate knowledge of USPAP and agency (FNMA, FHLMC, HUD/FHA, USDA) appraisal guidelines.
  • Intermdiate analytical and written communications skills; ability to clearly define and express valuation-related issues and potential resolutions.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to maintain deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
  • Licensed or Certified Residential Appraiser required.
