Why This Role Matters This person will be responsible for using Christie’s Appraisals Management System (CAMS) to perform data entry and produce illustrated appraisal documents of a high standard, following catalogue guidelines to meet specified deadlines.

Requirements

  • Excellent IT skills and ability to learn new systems quickly; experience with Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint (in a professional context)
  • Strong typing skills; minimum typing speed of 50 words per minute
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including superior written and spoken communication.
  • Organized and a demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Meticulous attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Appraisal Production Work on multiple appraisals concurrently, entering item cataloguing and value information in accordance with Christie’s standards for Fine and Decorative arts
  • Carefully and thoroughly proof and correct appraisal documents
  • Source, manipulate and crop images to be included in appraisals
  • Import data into CAMS using Microsoft Excel
  • Use Christie’s client system (COS) to create and update client information
  • Use various systems and tools to access (or update) information (such as COS, Artnet, etc.)
  • Transcribe audio recordings
  • Assist in all aspects of producing finished appraisal documents (printing, binding, saving, filing, etc.)
  • Client Research Activities Review daily publications and cross-reference with COS for business development opportunities
  • Occasional Lexis-Nexis research
  • Departmental Support Provide CAMS training and support for new and existing EAV team members
  • Assist with file and record management projects (as assigned)
  • Additional duties as assigned by manager.
