Position Summary The Apprentice Electrician supports the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems under the direct supervision of a licensed or Master electrician. This role is designed for individuals developing their electrical skills and knowledge, with structured on-the-job training to advance toward full competency. Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, tools, and varying conditions.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Basic knowledge of electrical theory, safety, and tools.
Ability to read basic diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
Strong mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn.
Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings and background checks
Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and teamwork.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Must be able to stand for prolonged periods (8+ hours)
Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. independently
Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and manual handling of materials required
Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
Ability to tolerate noise, heat, and dust in a manufacturing environment
Visual acuity to read measuring tools, drawings, and detect quality defects
Must pass initial and ongoing physical or occupational health screenings (e.g., lifting assessment, vision test, hearing test, etc.) Must be able to wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection

Responsibilities

Assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with local and national electrical codes.
Support testing of electrical systems and continuity of circuits using testing devices.
Help troubleshoot basic electrical issues and perform corrective actions under supervision.
Measure, cut, and bend conduit using manual or power equipment.
Pull electrical wire and route cables through conduit systems and cable trays.
Assist with motor controls, lighting systems, power distribution, switches, transformers, and panels.
Maintain clean and safe work areas; follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
Prepare, organize, and transport materials, tools, and equipment for job tasks.
Perform basic documentation of work performed, materials used, and findings.
Shadow senior electricians to learn proper techniques, procedures, and best practices.
Participate in required training, apprenticeships, and certifications as applicable.
Support other general maintenance tasks as needed.
